Character: Inquisitive, persistant (sometimes to an annoying level). Loves learning, and is very intrigued by these new cultures. Very loyal and hardworking, though sometimes he falls into dark moods when he needs to be alone.

Brief Bio: First of two children. His little sister was a pretty girl, but mentally unstable. From a young age, sailed with his father (who was a merchant sailor) and crew. Japan during this period was closed to most outside countries, Holland being one exclusion. Toru became friends with one of his father's business aquaintences, a Dutch man. The man tutored Toru for many years, including teaching him Dutch and English. By 17, Toru had left home and after spending time in Edo, he was taken under the wing of an older Samurai who believed he had skill in fighting. Toru was later hired on by the Samurai's Daimyoo. When he was 25, he found out that his Daimyoo had raped a girl several months ago who later turned out to be his sister (who had come to Edo to find him). In a rage, Toru killed the Daimyoo, and tried to find his sister, but she was gone.
He is now tracking her, and his journey has led him across seas to here (where ever here is).

Attire: Traditional samurai garb, somewhat worn, consisting of black hakama pants, over full length black kimono, and black haori.

Weapons: Buddha's eye style katana, black with gold bamboo detail with matching wakizashi

Misc: Pierced left ear, wears glasses to read.
