Language Barriers

Welll... that kinda changed things. Alright, I guess I'll just roll with the punches.

I did not pull her far along behind me- just out of the pub and around a neighboring building. When I released her arm she moved back away from me, looking at me as if I were insane.

She said something in French, I didn't understand, but I held out the parchment which she had earlier taken from her pocket. I pointed at the name on it.

She scowled, confused.

I scowered my brain. Why hadn't I ever learned French? My tutor had known it... Finally, I remembered a word which might be of assistence. "How?" I pointed again at the name on the parchment.

She said something else, I sighed and shook my head. Maybe... maybe she knew English. England wasn't so far from France.

"How did you come by this?" I asked, waving the parchment again. I had to know. I had to know why this paper said Mori Miho- the name of my sister.

The story continues

The man wasn't from around here his clothing was tattered and torn. I was still a little shaken up at what had happened prior. The man was what looked like Asian descent, he was very dirty but nothing I hadn't seen before. My hand trembled as I pulled the parchment out of my pocket. The mans eyes locked on it as my weak hand laid it on the counter in front of him. He took it up in his hands and studied it carefully. I walked around the bar curious to know why he was looking at it so intently. I came by his side to look over his sholder and rested my hand on the counter to get leverage. No sooner had I done this than he grabbed my arm and raced out the door with me run as fast as he could finally throwing me on his back.
